AGM – Wednesday November 23rd 2011
The AGM is coming up on Wednesday 23rd of November at 8pm. Get there, be there and have your say.
Our first game of the season went very well. We had some new boys but still worked as a team.
The last Saturday of the school holidays saw the Eagles take on division leaders Avalon at Avalon in a perfect winters day. A 12.30 kick off meant a nice pleasant and warm start for the game.
The Eagles were back on home turf at Lionel Watts. The sky clear, the wind chilly, but the Eagles looked assured and confident, eager to get out and play.
Belrose played as a team. They now know what it is like to work together, doing their best and the jubilation of winning against a good opposition. What a great match to experience.
Belrose scrapes home with the final try and conversion bringing the final score of Belrose 32 to Nth Curl Curl’s 24, our first win for the season and thoroughly deserved too.
With a bunch of enthusiastic, determined lads and a stand full of expectant parents and spectators, the stage was set for a great match between Belrose and Avalon.
For the most part of the game Beacon Hill Scored and converted the ball would then be given to Belrose who would kick to Beacon Hill and they would score, sadly this is the rule.
Christian Bros manage to score one more time…with only a few minutes to go Jack and Baden edge towards the try line and Ari decides at this point that he is making a quick go for the try line, he completely blindsided the opposition and over he went, well-done Ari.
A dropped ball was all the Ferrets needed to score another long range converted try. From the kick off the Ferrets score a converted try. Then despite some great tackling from James, Charlie, Oscar and Josh V Z the Ferrets score an unconverted try. Belrose kick off again and soft defence sees the catcher run almost a length of the field converted try.
