The AGM is coming up on Wednesday 23rd of November at 8pm. Get there, be there and have your say.
Belrose vs Valley United – Semi Final 2011 Two down, two to go. In front of one of the biggest and most vocal troop of Belrose supporters seen at Harbord Park for many years Belrose successfully defeated arch rival Valley United last Sunday 20-16. In another sudden death semi final we started well with Shannon [...]
We are a very proud team and proud of whom we play for so we will be giving it everything we have got in our preparation this week to get ready to take on the defending Premiers Narraweena Hawks in the preliminary final.
Coach Dempsey say’s “Living on the Edge in our quest to stay alive in the 2012 A Grade Title race. To the fans, bring your voice, wear your Red and Gold and we will do you proud”
The coach was very calm and explained to the boys that he could not question their effort, but their execution both in defence and offence needed to get back to the simple game plan that we can deliver so well. No second chances, this was it, time to get back on track.
The big guns are out this weekend in a do or die explosive encounter. Those pesky Narrabeen Sharks are coming to try and spoil the party for our A Grade boys.
Time to send these Sharks packing.
The game started at a cracking pace and it wasn’t long before Narraweena crossed the line for a 6-0 lead. We then responded with tries in the 12th and 20th minutes to Jon Manu for a 8-6 Belrose lead. Narraweena hit back with a try before halftime to regain the lead 8-10 and then Phil Ranga scored before halftime for Belrose to lead 12-10.
Before the game the coach asked that the number 8 jumper be retired for the season i.e. burnt. With the injury to Matty Lowe in the Ferrets clash Shannon Cameron has now lost four front row partners before and during the season.
We scored after 12 minutes through Christian Bate which was converted by Loz Faatamala for a 6-0 lead. Whilst we were definitely on top of the Ferrets we coughed up a lot of ball keeping them in the game. They scored in the 25 minute to level the score at 6-6 which remained the score until halftime.
We were well in this match and body language of the Valleys suggested this game was there for the taking. The coach reiterated the game plan and how we needed to maintain the focus and the pressure if we were going to win.
Unfortunately due to the recent run of bad weather Lionel Watts was closed on Sunday and instead of a home game we were transferred to a neutral ground, Lake Park at Narrabeen for our match against the A Grade frontrunners Asquith. Whilst we put up a brave fight and were in the match for a long time we were guilty of lapses and Asquith were good enough to capitalise on them and come home 20-14 victors.
